In my grandma’s village, almost everyone knew swimming because they had ponds and rivers nearby. I was raised in a town where there was no access to waterbodies, so every time I visited her place I enjoyed playing in the pond. It was a large pond with built-in steps. I used to sit on those steps dipping half of my body in water and pretending to swim. On one such occasion I slipped and nearly drowned. Thankfully, I was quickly saved by my cousin. Even after that dreadful event, I still love to be in water.
